How to order with payment by NDIS

This page provides NDIS Participants with additional information on how to purchase Brolly Sheets on their NDIS plan, depending on whether the participant is Agency, Plan or Self Managed.   Please call Glenn (1800 809 847) to discuss your needs and our process.

Overview

The National Disability Insurance Agency’s scheme (NDIS) represents a new way for people to access the support that they require to live their lives.  One of the key aims of the scheme is to create consumers who will understand what their needs are, and to be able to select products and services from a range of possible providers that will fulfil those needs.

Brolly Sheets has been providing waterproof protection for beds, clothing and furniture via the internet to customers all around Australia for over 10 years.  Brolly Sheets is proud to be a registered provider to participants in the NDIS of our products, which can help manage day to day continence needs. 

To order products from Brolly Sheets, which will be paid for by the NDIS, one already needs to be an existing participant in the scheme.  Having your continence needs professionally assessed, will help in the development of the continence management section of your NDIS annual plan.  Some of the topics for consideration in a continence management plan may include, whether specialist bedding is appropriate, whether specialist undergarments such as re-usable underwear or single use “disposable” garments are a suitable alternative and the role of catheters in the daily management of your continence needs.
 

Orders for the different types of plan management

There are three modes of plan management, each with a slightly different approach for purchasing products which will be funded by the NDIS.  The three modes are Agency Managed, Plan Manager, and Self-Managed.  The steps to purchase Brolly Sheets products under each model are out lined below.

Agency Managed (Participants managed by the NDIS)

  1. Participant places an order with Brolly Sheets directly.  By the Internet at brollysheetsgeneralstore.com or by telephone 1800 809 847.  The participant can choose products which meet their needs from both a functional and aesthetic perspective.
  2. Brolly Sheets calls the participant to discuss the order, and ascertain with it is for an Adult or child.
  3. Brolly Sheets (using the NDIS Provider portal) generates a service request for the Participant for the items requested.
  4. NDIS approves the Service Request.
  5. Brolly Sheets ships the goods to the participant
  6. Using NDIS portal, Brolly Sheets claims payment from NDIS.
  7. NDIS pays Brolly Sheets directly.

This entire process from order to delivery of goods can take between 4 to 5 working days and does not require the participant to be involve in the payment portion of the purchase.

 

Plan Managed (Participants managed a professional Plan Manager approved by the NDIS)

  1. Participant can place an order with Brolly Sheets or ask their Plan Manager to place an order with Brolly Sheets.  The participant can choose products which meet their needs from both a functional and aesthetic perspective.
  2. Brolly Sheets produces an invoice and provides the invoice to the plan manager for submission to the NDIS. 
  3. At some point the Plan Manager receives funds from NDIS and remits the funds to Brolly Sheets.
  4. Brolly Sheets then ships the goods to the Participant.

This process from order to delivery of goods is taking longer that for Agency managed participant.  And has been known to take up to a month, with payments from Plan Managers being particularly slow.  However one payment has been received delivery usually takes between 3 to 5 working days.

Self-Managed (Participants who have assumed responsibility for buying products which are then re-imburdsed by the NDIS)

  1. Participant places and pays for an order with Brolly Sheets directly.  Orders can be placed via the Internet at brollysheetsgeneralstore.com or by telephone 1800 809 847.  The participant can choose products which meet their needs from both a functional and aesthetic perspective.
  2. Brolly Sheets ships the goods to the participant
  3. The participant, using the Brolly Sheets invoice, claims payment from NDIS.
  4. NDIS reimburses the participant directly.

This process from order to delivery of goods is very quick usually taking between 3 to 5 working days.  As Brolly Sheets is not involved in the reimbursement portion we do not know how long the agency is taking to re-imburse self-managed participants.

 

Online NDIS orders.

Online orders at Brolly Sheets are placed using our secure General Store (brollysheetsgeneralstore.com) website.  We have made 2 changes to our website to accommodate NDIS orders for Agency Managed participants.  Those changes are the introduction of shipping choices of Metropolitan and Remote areas for all NDIS Participants and the inclusion of new payment method, called “NDIS Payment” for Agency managed participants.  The NDIS Payment method allows the participant to provide their NDIS Participant number which is required to make a service booking.

Delivery from Brolly Sheets to NDIS Participants

Brolly Sheets has elected to only deliver to NDIS participants via the Toll Courier Company. Toll Courier provide a fully tracked service which enables us to understand where your parcel is and what the likely delivery time is going to be.  However using Toll does mean that we are unable to deliver to Post Office boxes.  But the Toll Courier Company gives a 3 to 5 working day delivery time frame to Metropolitan areas. While the expected timeframe for delivery to remote areas being slightly longer around 7 days.
